The temple of the living God, what does that mean to you? What should we do or be? How do we do it? I hope that this devotional will answer those questions.

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 (NKJV) 14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”[Leviticus 26:12; Jeremiah 32:38; Ezekiel 37:27]
17 Therefore “Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”[Isaiah 52:11; Ezekiel 20:34, 41]
18 “I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the Lord Almighty.”[2 Samuel 7:14]
What I want to look at is 2 Corinthians 6:17. The first word is therefore, so let us look and see what it is there for. Verse 16 says we are the Temple of the living God. We see here Paul is not talking about the building down on the corner he is talking about us… Now Paul starts to tell us he will dwell in us and walk among us He will be our God and we will His people.
Now we get to verse 17 that gives us a list of hows:
1 Come out from among them.
2 Be separate
3 Do not touch what is unclean
Then:
1 He will receive
2 He will be a Father to us
3 We will be His Sons and Daughters
It is all up to us to be what we are to be. He is willing and able. Our Lord loves us so let us get busy DOING our part so he can BE His part in, to and for us
