The day is here and has been for a while, I do believe, we are being called to repentance. Why one might ask, because we say one thing and show another. A statement I have used lately is “ Your WALK talks louder that your talk talks. We say one thing and show another…

Joel 2:12-14 (NKJV) 12 “Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” 13 So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm. 14 Who knows if He will turn and relent, And leave a blessing behind Him—A grain offering and a drink offering For the Lord your God?

As Christians we are watched all the time by the world and those that do not wish to believe will use what we do to rebuttal what we say. Are we walking our talk, that is my question? An example got me a few weeks ago. Our Pastor asked a simple question a few weeks ago that really hit home I think. He ask a simple question about driving “Do you obey the traffic laws?”

I imagine a lot of us do not we get so involved with the flow of traffic and do not. Yes, I started driving the speed limit and have found that I do not get where I am going much later than if I was speeding. That is one thing I started and one might ask why. Well first I have a license plate on the front of our car that says “My Boss Is A Jewish Carpenter.” So I am working on being what I say I am, a Christian.

We all should have this scripture posted in our homes and live by it. In fact I am going to make a post of it and pray that it is used. Rend: To tear with violent force or to be torn in this way; rip. To tear or pull (one’s clothes, etc), as a manifestation of rage or grief A noise or cry to disturb the air, silence, with a shrill or piercing tone. In pain or distress (the heart, conscience, etc).

Now the definition is about clothing and the scripture says rend your heart not your clothes. Except the last part of the definition in pain or distress the heart or conscience. If we are not where we feel we should be we need to rend our hearts and get where we need to be. Today is going to be a short Devotional I ask that each one who reads this think about it deeply and honestly… Are we being all our Father has called us to be?

Thank you for reading and may God bless and be with you and watch over you. And let us understand, it is time for us to BLESS GOD… This Ministry is supported with and by your love offerings, please consider helping us to spread the Gospel around the world.
