The tongue is it under control if not how do we know. If your mouth goes to work before you think about what you are saying is a very good sign of the tongue not being under control…

James 1:26 (NKJV) If anyone [omits among you]among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.

This is something we need to search ourselves and look at it. Do we have control of our tongue. For it is we are only fooling ourselves if we do not have it under control. That is one of the main reasons, I believe, that we get into trouble.

We allow our tongue to work without us controlling it. The tongue is amazing when it comes to running. Once it is out there, is no taking it back. We all need to learn to control it, the tongue.

James 3:5-7 (NKJV) 5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of [unrighteousness]iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of [existence]nature; and it is set on fire by hell. 7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind.

Proverbs 10:19 (NKJV) In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is wise.
Proverbs 13:3 (NKJV) He who guards his mouth preserves his life, but he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.
Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV) Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Proverbs 21:23 (NKJV) Whoever guards his mouth and tongue Keeps his soul from troubles.

James 3:15-18 (NKJV) 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

May the peace of our Father reign in our lives may it bring forth peace, comfort, wisdom, knowledge and understanding. May we all be blessed with discernment and accept what is Godly and reject what is from our enemy. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ I do pray—AMEN!
