Part Two
Continuing from yesterday we are going to look at scripture about Unity and why we need to be in Unity. Let us continue with United We Stand…Part one is on the site listed as just “United We Stand” if you missed it…
1 Peter 3:8 (NKJV) Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers [and sisters], be tender-heated, be courteous;
Today we are going to look at “Peace and Unity” and “Unity in the Body of Christ”. Let us start with this scripture and understand who we are 1 John 4:12 No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God remains in us and His love is perfected in us.
Peace and Unity
Romans 15:33 (HCSB) May the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
Ephesians 4:3 (NIV) Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
The Body of Christ needs Unity
1 Corinthians 12:12-13 (NIRV) 12 There is one body, but it has many parts. But all its many parts make up one body. It is the same with Christ. 13 We were all baptized by one Holy Spirit. And so we are formed into one body. It didn’t matter whether we were Jews or Gentiles, slaves or free people. We were all given the same Spirit to drink.
1 Corinthians 12:14 (NKJV) For in fact the body is not one member but many.
1 Corinthians 12:26 (NIRV) If one part suffers, every part suffers with it. If one part is honored, every part shares in its joy.
Galatians 3:28 (NASB) There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 4:11-13 (NASB) 11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.
Unity In the Middle of Discipline Even in Disagreements
Matthew 18:15 (NIRV) “If your brother or sister sins against you, go to them. Tell them what they did wrong. Keep it between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them back.
Romans 12:16 (NIV) Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
1 Corinthians 1:10 (NIV) I appeal to you, brothers and sisters,[a] in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.
I am going to stop here for today and will continue tomorrow with more unity. I feel if we grasp the unity that God has for us that we will explode across this country and we will grow because we are in one accord what matters is God and what Jesus did for us. So I pray that each will return tomorrow and learn more about. Part 3 tomorrow we will start looking at Division in the Body God Bless
