Watching You

I was just thinking about parents and children and a song came on my wife’s radio. All at once my thoughts went back to my children. We love our children and we will do anything to protect them from others. However do we protect them from us? I have seen and heard the arguments, the parents wait until the children are not in the room or a sleep in bed. When they are around parents pretend to be happy and all is well. Then one day daddy doesn’t come home and it turns into a week and the lie isn’t working anymore. Who pays the price for it? The children and most of them know, why one says we did not fight in front of them. THEY ARE WATCHING YOU.
Children watch everything we as parents do, and I do mean everything. We have more control over what our children do and why they do it. Children see and hear everything you think they are not listening they are, you think they are not watching, they are.
You want them to be honest, be honest with and around them, truthful, caring, kind, happy, hard workers, good in school, THEY ARE WATCHING you. Don’t send them to church take them, don’t tell them to pray show them, don’t tell them to be honest, show them how. That is what it is about. Let them see you help a neighbor when they need help, Open a door and hold it for others, be polite and courteous to others. Remember there is a 168 hours in a week and who spends most of the time with the children? That is who is being the biggest influence in their life, like it or not. I want you to stop what you are doing and listen to this song, and think about what I said. Maybe it is time to go to the barn and hit your knees…
