What Do I Believe

As I woke up my computer this morning, I was greeted with an article and a question. The article bothered me as I read the content and then the question. “Tell me what do you believe?” “I am looking for the truth”, and so today Devotional is going to be What Do I Believe. I am not sure why I decided to do it this way however the Holy Spirit lead me I do believe. I will also add this will not be a total of everything and all for I believe the WHOLE BIBLE, however this is a basic what I base my faith on.
So the first thing I believe is Genesis 1:1 (NKJV) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. I believe that God is the Creator of everything.
I Believe that Scripture is inspired by God according to 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV) 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
I Believe that God will never leave me nor forsake me according to Deuteronomy 31:8 (NKJV) And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.” and Joshua 1:5 (NKJV) No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Also found in Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV) Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Yes I am pretty sure God will not leave me.
I do believe that God did willingly send Jesus to earth according to Matthew 1:18 (NKJV) Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
I believe next the scripture that says there is a price that has to be paid for sin and Jesus came to pay the price, Romans 6:23 (NKJV) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. We also find in 2 Corinthians 5:2 (NKJV) For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
I believe that God is Almighty and Jesus died for me on the cross so that I might be saved from death in hell because Romans 6:23 says the WAGES of SIN is DEATH. However the GIFT of GOD is ETERNAL LIFE. So that makes it clear to me what I desire and what I need.
Then it gets a little deeper here for this can be a difficult thing for a lot of us. When I first read this some 33 years ago I had a hard time with it however it is true. Matthew 5:23-24 (NKJV) 23 Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
Then I had to learn Galatians 2:20 (NKJV) I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. So according to this the man I was died when I accepted what Christ did for me. Thus BORN AGAIN… So if the old man died at the cross then why do I wish to go back there and carry the old man around. For the OLD ME was a sinner and the heading for hell now the NEW ME is saved by GRACE and on my way to HEAVEN and according to, 2 Corinthians 6:14 (NKJV) Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness,
I can not be yoked with that OLD ME. For if I wish to hang onto all that and try to work my way into HEAVEN, try to live by the law. Then Galatians 2:21 (NKJV) I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.” By carrying all that old stuff around and not believing in the GRACE of God and what Jesus Christ did for me I am not accepting the GRACE and will try to live by the law, Jesus died for nothing.
I will end with this verse for it is what I do honestly believe completely without any doubt Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV) 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Now again I know this is not a total complete how I am here and do this however it would take me years to write that and someday I might just do that however this is what I believe and why I believe it. If there is someone who reads this and is not SAVED BY GRACE and desires to be I am on Facebook most of the them day time Tuesday through Sunday. I will be glad to help you or any of the Admin in either group can and will show anyone the way to HEAVEN.
