John 13:34 (NKJV) A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

We have just read a commandment, it is not a suggestion, nor and idea it is a commandment. As soon as we can stop seeing color, race, or where someone lives or works and start seeing people. We can start to love as our Father loves. I know we are humans and in today’s world we remember what someone does faster than we can remember their name. I want to take a look at some verses on love, and see if we can learn and grow – and understand What is Everlasting Life…

John 15:12 (NKJV) This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Galatians 5:14 (NKJV) For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Leviticus 19:18 (NKJV) You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

1 John 3:11 (NKJV) For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another,

1 John 4:21 (NKJV) And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.

1 Peter 4:8 (NKJV) And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.

Proverbs 10:12 (NKJV) Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all sins.

James 5:20 (NKJV) let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

I think Love is pretty important to God. I saved the best for last and this is the one that before one looks at what they want to do because of something another one said or did I pray that we can stop and think of what God and Jesus did for us and then decide if what they said or did is really that important, John 3:16-17 (NKJV) 16 For God SO LOVED the world that He GAVE His ONLY begotten SON, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be SAVED.

I will close with the beginning question What is Everlasting Life?
