What the Word Says

I have thought about this for a while and I hope I can clear things up about healing. It is a touchy subject so I am going to use some scripture and basically let each one make up their own mind. I am going to start with some simple things for us to understand, let’s get started.

We first have to understand about the Law and Grace – why did Jesus come to the earth and live here? The Fulfillment of the Law Matthew 5:17-20 (HCSB) 17 “Don’t assume that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For I assure you: Until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or one stroke of a letter will pass from the law until all things are accomplished. 19 Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commands and teaches people to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Here we see that He did not come to destroy the law he came to fulfill it. We understand that in the old testament this is talked about the apocalyptic event of Jesus’ death and resurrection, and those that this gospel is talking about are living in the new and final age, prophesied by Isaiah as the time of “new heavens and a new earth” Isaiah 65:17 (NIRV) “I will create new heavens and a new earth. The things that have happened before will not be remembered. They will not even enter your minds. And we find also in Isaiah 66:22 (NIRV)“I will make new heavens and a new earth. And they will last forever,” announces the Lord. “In the same way, your name and your children after you will last forever.

Now let us make a decision do we live by the law or by Grace through Faith that is the question. Lets first look at Titus 2:11-13 (NKJV) 11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.

Now we find in Romans 4:16 (NIRV) The promise is based on God’s grace. The promise comes by faith. All of Abraham’s children will certainly receive the promise. And it is not only for those who are ruled by the law. Those who have the same faith that Abraham had are also included. He is the father of us all. Galatians 3:5 (NKJV) Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?— With this said now let us look at Romans 4:16 (NIRV) The promise is based on God’s grace. The promise comes by faith. All of Abraham’s children will certainly receive the promise. And it is not only for those who are ruled by the law. Those who have the same faith that Abraham had are also included. He is the father of us all.

Let us now look at Galatians 2:20-21 (NIV) 20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!” We see here that the law has been completed and grace now abounds. I believe that we agree that we now live by Grace not the Law and Jesus died on the cross for all our sins and when he said “It Is Finished” the IT in that statement is everything has been taken care of completely totally it is truly finished.

With that said I want to look at a couple other verses’ First Isaiah 53:4-6 (HCSB) 4 Yet He Himself bore our sicknesses, and He carried our pains; but we in turn regarded Him stricken, struck down by God, and afflicted. 5 But He was pierced because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities; punishment for our peace was on Him,and we are healed by His wounds. 6 We all went astray like sheep; we all have turned to our own way; and the Lord has punished Him [has placed on Him] for the iniquity of us all. Next let us look at 1 Peter 2:22-25 (HCSB) 22 He did not commit sin, and no deceit was found in His mouth; 23 when He was reviled, He did not revile in return; when He was suffering, He did not threaten but entrusted Himself to the One who judges justly. 24 He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that, having died to sins, we might live for righteousness; you have been[were] healed by His wounds. 25 For you were like sheep going astray, but you have now returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls. Now we see in this scriptures one thing in two different ways we see in Isaiah 53: 5 we are healed and in 1 Peter 2:24 we have been or were healed. So according to what I have read and stated in the Devotional again “It Is Finished” Jesus has taken care of it.

The next Devotional will be praying for the manifestation of said healing, I am not saying I have it all figured out– again read this scriptures and see what the word says and pray about it and then decide how you wish to pray.

Memory Verse for July 14, 2015

1 Peter 2:24 (HCSB)  He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that, having died to sins, we might live for righteousness; you have been[were] healed by His wounds.

May God be with you and watch over you. And America it is time for us to BLESS GOD again…

1 Corinthians 9:19 (NKJV) For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more;
