Finding Your Spiritual Gifts

This is a subject that has been on my heart and mind for sometime… I am going to address it in the way that I feel. As always I am not saying this is the only answer however I am going to use scripture to show how I came to this conclusion. The manifestation of the gifts healings is you exercising your God-given spiritual ability to heal by the power of God, according to what God or the Lord Jesus has revealed to you, be it by studying or a message of knowledge and wisdom.

Let us first lay some ground work the foundation of how I came to the conclusions I have come to. Let us start with the definition of Manifestation: An indication of the existence, reality, or presence of something. Next I want us to look at this scripture John 14:12-14 (NKJV) 12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask[me] anything in My name, I will do it.

I have seen people through the years take things totally out of context or try to use just parts and this scripture is one of them some would like to use the “asks anyting and I will do it.” There is a couple important words that needs to be understood and used before that statement “HE WHO BELIEVES IN ME” see it is, so to speak, where the rubber meets the road, it does not say hopes in or wants to it plainly says WHO believes. Now if we by faith believe in the grace of God as in Galatians 2:20-21 (NIV) 20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!” then we will do greater things and we can ask anything that is in His will and He will do it.

With this thought in our mind let us move on. The next scripture that comes to mind is this one Matthew 17:20 (NKJV) So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief;[little faith] for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. If you are a cook or in the kitchen you can probably fine a small bottle of Mustard Seeds and see the size of one of them. If one has that much faith one can say to that mountain move from here to there and it will. Now that mountain is not necessarily a pile of dirt or rocks, it could be drugs, alcohol, etc. Any thing that is a problem, I think you get the ideal of what I am saying.

I want to start by looking at 1 Corinthians 12:1-14 (NKJV) 1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: 2 You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. 3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For in fact the body is not one member but many.

This Devotional started out on the gift of healing however to be fair and honest I feel that After some studying I see that there are 3 sets of spiritual gifts.  So in this study I do feel that we should address them all to help you in Finding Your Spiritual Gifts.  I will try to demonstrate or describe each set of the gifts.  Instead of trying to do it all at one I would like to teach each one separate, as follows:

Memory Verse for July 15, 2015

1 Peter 2:24 (HCSB)  He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that, having died to sins, we might live for righteousness; you have been[were] healed by His wounds.

May God be with you and watch over you. And America it is time for us to BLESS GOD again…

1 Corinthians 9:19 (NKJV) For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more;
