What will it take, that is the question I am asking today. Jesus went to the cross just for a sinner just like us all. He did not pick anyone out nor did He leave anyone behind. That is a choice only you can make for yourself.

Joshua 24:14 (NKJV) “Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River in Egypt. Serve the Lord!

I would like to take a few minutes and look at Joshua 24:14. As I read this verse there was a song playing in the back ground that brought tears to my eyes… Gordon Mote is a blind Christian piano playing servant of God. He was singing “When Mercy Walked In” what a song to listen to as I try to write this Devotional…

The first thing that touched me in this verse are these 3 words “FEAR THE LORD”, yes we need to understand and then we will fear Him. Not because he will hurt us but because He did something that NO ONE ELSE COULD DO! He went to that cross for you and for me.

Then we read “SERVE HIM IN SINCERITY”. Sincerity what does that mean… Freedom from deceit, hypocrisy, or falseness; earnestness; probity. “TRUTH” The quality of being true, genuine, actual, or factual. Something that is true as opposed to false. A proven or verified principle or statement; a fact. The state or quality of being faithful; allegiance…

We have a house full of idols. The house we live in, the car we drive, the clothes we wear. The bank account. They are all gods that we worship. My question is what happens when they all disappear, because they can in the twinkle of and eye, then what do you have to worship? NOTHING you are left with nothing. Where our Lord is always there he will never leave us nor forsake us, Hebrews 13:5.

Next question is are they really left behind or are we still hanging onto them? This could actually be the last chance to get it right with our Lord. Is it worth the gamble that we will have another chance… For the word say in Matthew 24:42 we do not know when He will return to take us home…

Then we see this scripture CLEARLY now… Joshua 24:15 (NKJV) 15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

I am asking this question today to each individual who happens up on this devotional today “Who are you serving”? If not our Lord then it is time to turn away from those idols and turn back to our Lord. If you have never trusted Him find someone to help you or right now bow your head and as Jesus into your heart. Let us know and we will pray with you if you can not find anyone close.

Thank You Lord for this message today… May hearts be touched and returned to You. The love I have I can not describe in words Lord for I do not have them… Thank You for the Love You have shown me. All I ask Lord is for the words to say to bring other home. Thank You in the name of Jesus my Lord and Savior I do pray this today—AMEN!

Spread the love
