Who Will You Serve

Acts 6:9-10 (NRSV) 9 Then some of those who belonged to the synagogue of the Freedmen (as it was called), Cyrenians, Alexandrians, and others of those from Cilicia and Asia, stood up and argued with Stephen. 10 But they could not withstand the wisdom and the Spirit with which he spoke.
Here we see what some will do to keep their position and that is the same thing today. That is why some churches do not preach the whole truth. They tell people what the want to hear to keep them coming and keep them giving. Numbers is their game. Look at what we are doing. The truth is not the most popular thing to preach. The truth is hard to swallow if one is told it for sure if one is wrapped up in worldly things. People do not wish to talk about dying or hell. Look around us there is so much stuff to keep one looking young. Color ones hair or whiten ones teeth, get rid of wrinkles and on and on.
There comes a time in every life that one needs to decide who or what he is going to follow. Worldly goods or Jesus, money or God. Yes and Heaven or Hell. As it was stated in Joshua 24:15 “But suppose you don’t want to serve him. Then choose for yourselves right now whom you will serve. You can choose the gods your people served east of the Euphrates River. Or you can choose the gods the Amorites serve. After all, you are living in their land. But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”
