Why Pray

Matthew 21:22 (NIV) And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” I choose this scripture for a reason, there are many verses on prayer and why and what for. This one answers the question I think prayer is the way we talk to God this is our communication source to God this is how we talk to our Father.
However the thing I am going to address today is not the prayer part, it is the next word and then the three words that follow. Believing, one can not pray without believing, so we have to believe, believe what? I think we need to believe that he hears our prayers and believe that He answers our prayers. Praying is not a, I hope thing. nor a maybe thing it is a real thing. We need to pray with confidence that he hears and answers.
There are different prayers for different things I do believe what it says in Mark 11:25 (NIV) “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. We should forgive to be forgiven. I am a big believer in prayer and I do believe prayer changes things. I guess what I am saying is believing is Positive Prayer.
The Lord has given me these groups and I have struggled with what I have been called to do and I do believe it is to pray and teach prayer to others. We need to learn to pray, we need to learn the hows and whys in prayer. I do believe a simple honest prayer from the heart works. I do also believe that we need to pray positive prayers. What I mean is specific prayers not in general.
Example if one needs a healing… Let us pray for the healing of So in So’s left arm a specific pray. We can pray for someone who we have been told needs prayer and have not been told what is wrong. We can ask the Holy Spirit and should ask for specifics on how to pray.
So let us PRAY BELIEVING for that is how we RECEIVE. Let us all practice this and get into it. Prayer is our greatest weapon to fight the enemy with. We have so much at hand to use so if we pray Scripture and pray believing the scripture says we will receive. So let us do as Larry the Cable Guy says lets “Get er Done”… So I hope we know and understand WHY PRAY. God Bless All of You…

Jym, i am a big believer in prayer and sometimes some, don’t get it i know from my heart God, gets it all the time. but, what gets me and i am guilty myself is that when we pray i think we should pray. not just saying prayers coming or i am in agreement. so Jym, help me out here am i wrong here? i really need your advice.
Don prayer is something that we do to communicate with God. That is what we are doing Don if you say praying or prayers coming I do not think it is wrong however if one does not follow through later then that was a lie. Matthew 5 36-3736 And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. 37 All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. If you say praying then pray or like if you are at work and you say that then when you have time pray. Remember all it takes is a simple honest prayer from the heart. It does not have to be a long drawn out thing with that special prayer voice with the saidths and the doeths talk to God like you would talk to me. As a child would talk to their daddy. I hope this helps my brother.
