1 Peter 5:8-9 (NKJV) 8 Be [self-controlled]sober, be [watchful]vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

The enemy is a liar and the father of it. He was defeated many, many, many, years ago. It does not say he walks around AS a roaring lion, but LIKE meaning he really is not a roaring lion he just lies and make believes he is. Leading people astray giving them false hope and stupid desires.

One can gather up all the riches and wealth they can, here on earth, however there is no U-Haul trailer on the back of Hurst. No one can take any of it with them. Jesus Christ and HIM crucified. Is the only way to Heaven it can not be bought it has already been paid for in full. He, Jesus, died on a cross of our sins so we can go to Heaven.

He, the enemy, is looking for who he can devour meaning to swallow or eat up greedily or voraciously, to waste or destroy; consume. To consume greedily or avidly with the senses or mind, to engulf or absorb.

We are to resist him, believing in our faith in our Father. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world 1 John 4:4. Let us stand against our enemy and let the lost see Him work in and through us in our lives here on earth. Let our walk do the talking…
