A Spiritual War Is What We Are Fighting

A spiritual war is the battle. I listened to a message yesterday and could not get it out of my mind then I found this scripture that put it in perspective and I feel it is something that we all need to be aware of.

2 Corinthians 10:4-6 (NKJV) 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not [of the flesh]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every THOUGHT into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

A simple question that is not really thought about much, if at all. Where does the enemy get us every time? Think about it for a moment is it a picture is it a person and the way they are dressed. Is it a taste or a desire? NO! It is not it is a THOUGHT! We see something it can be a picture or a person. It could be a word someone says and instantly a thought comes into our mind.

Verse 5b says bringing every THOUGHT into captivity. Every thought not just some all thoughts. That is a tall order for our mind runs all the time. I am not sure, but, I think I am blessed in one way. Very seldom do I remember a dream in fact I am not sure I dream. I sleep and wake up and I do think that is a blessing.

Before we do anything we have a THOUGHT, I can not speak for anyone else only myself and I admit that sometimes I need blinders, I am a lot better then I used to be, I have taught myself to look people in the face. Some ladies can get me in trouble and I do not believe most do it without even thinking about it. The way they dress can cause me a problem so I have taught, or should say am teaching, myself to look at there eyes or face.

Why, one might say, because instantly the enemy puts a THOUGHT in ones mind. Thus sin goes to work. Our THOUGHTS get us in trouble. If one slips and sins what happens? A THOUGHT says well now you have done it God is done with you so you might as well continue. Think about it, that is how quick he is.

Bringing every THOUGHT into captivity to the obedience of Christ. The reason that is written is because our Lord knows us and knows our enemy. So let us work on bringing them into CAPTIVITY. And stop the enemy in his tracks…
