Denying Ourselves Taking Up Our Cross DAILY

Denying means [To declare untrue; assert to be false, to refuse to believe, to reject. To refuse to recognize or acknowledge; disavow. To decline to grant or allow; refuse. To give a refusal to; turn down or away. To restrain (oneself) especially from indulgence in pleasures.] OH my, are we even attempting to deny ourselves?

Verses Of The Day

Luke 9:23-24 (MEV) 23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. 24 For whoever will save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.

Have we ever read these verses, I do mean READ them and thought about them. Are we willing to do what DENY means. You know I see ads on TV about loosing weight and America in general needs to loose weight. However what they do not say is, STOP eating what you are eating and eat what you should. They forget to tell you this word “FOREVER”.

Why do they not tell you that? Simple, once you loose the weight you will leave the diet behind and go back to what you were doing and gain back the weight you lost plus more, because your body says OH no they will do this again and it needs reinforcement. Deny yourself is it! I say this all the time, “How do you know what is bad for you to eat? It taste good…”

Then enemy makes sin look good for now however in the end hell will be the answer and that is not good. Denying oneself then is useless. Hell is eternity as is Heaven. So think about these few words:
Choose this day whom you will serve!”

Have We And Are We Denying Ourselves

Let’s see it is Sunday morning the church has 500 people there for the church service. There was only 240 there for Sunday School. Then comes Sunday night 190 come to that one. There are many excuses why not go, in fact some churches have cut out Sunday night. Then comes Wednesday night and 85 show up. That one too in some churches have been stopped.

Are we denying ourselves? Are we placing other gods before our Father? Are we saving or lives or loosing them? We need to wake up. We need to decide are we serving God or man (ourselves)? Again I say being a Christian is a full time thing. I am going to close with this scripture:

There Are Two Gates

Matthew 7:13-14 (MEV) 13 “Enter at the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who are going through it, 14 because small is the gate and narrow is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it…

This scripture is not talking about saved and unsaved it is talking to Christians and ones playing Christian. That sounds harsh and it is however it is the truth… Ending with Joshua 24:15 (MEV) 15 If it is displeasing to you to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve, if it should be the gods your fathers served beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites’ land where you are now living. Yet as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
