Jesus the Light of the World–Before Abraham Was, I AM!

Jesus says He is the “Light of the world” I am using more scripture today thank usual, however it is not hard to understand I do not believe. We need to understand WHO’S we are and start living a victorious life…

Today’s Scriptures

John 8:12 (NKJV) Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Then after this statement Jesus, sort of, tares into them with one sentence He got my attention…

John 8:42-47 (NKJV) 42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. 43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. 46 Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? 47 He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.”

Do We Show A Lack Of Interest?

If God was your Father you would love me! If that hits anyone it is time for some repentance. We ask and ask and ask and get angry when we do not get. I am going to get nosy and I will not say I am sorry. For it is time to wake up. We go to church on Sunday morning and take Bible and use it as a seat saver.

We get angry if a stranger happens to sit where we usually sit. “That is my seat I sit there every Sunday.” No just Sunday morning. Can not come Sunday evening because I have to get up for work Monday, but we sit and watch TV until 10 or 11… Making the TV a god, by putting it before Him.

Then comes Wednesday evening again one is to tired and needs rest for the day that comes. But again the TV wins. Church building are closing the doors on Sunday nights and Wednesday night do to LACK OF INTEREST and we wonder why He dose not answer our prayers.

If we paid a much attention to our mates or our job or even our favorite sport as we do God where would we be. I can say this from experience. I was guilty before I got saved I was into sports and that was it. Now I see people saying “I can’t go to church today because I will miss the kick off” Once again another god…

The Real Problem

What is it going to take to get our attention. American is going to hell in a hand basket and we are to busy to care… But will complain that God does not answer. Maybe just maybe God is not the problem. Go in the bathroom turn in the light and look in the mirror and see the REAL PROBLEM…

Verse 47 says it all “He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.” So who is not listening that is my question? I hope this scripture helps open some shut eyes and God our Father is put back in His place in our lives…
