Living Godly Lives We Well Be Persecuted

Living Godly well bring on persecution and as the end grows nearer the deceiving will get worse. The enemy is fighting a loosing battle and he knows it however he desires to take as many with him as he can.

2 Timothy 3:12-13 (NKJV) 12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

Reading this scripture over and over as I posted it as the “Memory Verse of the Day” I was thinking about stuff that is going on that I feel is not of God. Bigger homes more expensive jewelry trying to impress the rich and famous or are they? I think it is trying to say if you trust in God you too can have these things.

1 Timothy 6:10 (NKJV) For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Paul warned us in the Book of Timothy about the love of money even back them it was happening and it is still here today. I am not saying having nice things is not good. I am saying if getting them is ones drive then that is the wrong reason.

I am saying right now if money is driving anyone that is the wrong drive. As I started writing this I thought of Matthew 6:25-34 (NKJV) This scripture is titled DO NOT WORRY… We spend way to much time worrying about stuff. Verse 31 says it this way ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ The birds do not plant nor do they harvest and the Lord takes care of them will he not take care of us?

We have got so wrapped up with keeping up with others that we forget why we are here! I think it is time to get back to the basics, and that is “The Great Commission” Matthew 28:16-20 (NKJV) 16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

My prayer today is that we get back to the basics and stop trying to compete with the world or the enemy. Our Father is bigger and has more than any other and He will take care of us and our needs, not our wants but our needs. I pray today is the start of a new life in Christ and that we worry about the lost and getting them in the flock heading HOME. I pray this all in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior—AMEN!
