The Morning Prayer today is about why do we have to try everything first before turning to our Lord? It seems like we know He is and has the answer but we just have to try it on our on.
Psalms 107 12-14 (NKJV) 12 Therefore He brought down their heart with labor; They fell down, and there was none to help. 13 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. 14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their chains in pieces.
As I started writing today’s Morning Prayer a song started playing the name of it is “Sometimes It Takes a Mountain”, and I thought most of the time. Why do we try over and over and over to fix it or do it ourselves. We know the Lord has the answer but we think we can do this one on our own and usually fall flat on our face trying to do it on our own.
Let Us Work On Listening To The Lord
Proverbs 15:4 (NKJV) A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.
I think sometimes I need to put my mind in gear before I put my mouth into action. I catch myself starting to say something that is totally stupid. Then I have to go back and fix it and ask for forgiveness. We, as human, can speak a lot of garbage and hurt a lot of people with some little simple thing.
I know I have said thing in a moment of anger said things that I wish I could take back as it pours out of my mouth. So I try to think before I say something stupid. I wish to be a blessing to others not a road block.
