Self-Control of a Christian Yesterday, Today and Forever

Self-Control is not a bad thing that we need to take medicine for. Nor is it something that you can buy, I believe it is taught by actions our Children watch everything we do and say and mock us for they desire to be like us… What are they seeing that is the question

Self-Control of a Christian Yesterday, Today and Forever

Here is some scripture to help with self-control:

For a clean conscience= Acts 24:16 says, ” And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offense blameless towards God, and towards men.”

The fruits of the Holy Spirit= Galatians 5:22-23 says, ” but the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, Faith, 23 meekness, Temperance, against such there is no law.”

Over Our Bodies = Romans 6:12 says, ”
Let not sin therefore Reign (rule) in your mortal body, that you should obey it in the lusts (evil desires) thereof.”

Over Our Lips = Psalms 141:3 says, ”
Set a watch O Lord, before my mouth, keep the door of my lips. James 1:26 If any man among you seems to be religious and control not his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless.”

Over Our Spirit’s= Proverbs 16:32 says, ” he that is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he that rules his Spirit than he that takes a city.”

Through Divine Help = Jeremiah 10:23,24 says, ” oh Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walks to direct his steps. 24 oh Lord, correct me, but with judgment, not in the anger, lest Thou bring me to nothing.”

Value of= Proverbs 16:32 ” he that is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he that rules the spirit, then he that takes a city. Proverbs 25:28 says he that has no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down and Without Walls.”

Displayed by Saul = 1 Samuel 10:26,27 says, ” and Saul also went home to Gibeah, and there went with him a band of men whose Hearts God had touched. 27 both the children of the Belial (wickedness) said, how shall this man save us? And they despised him and brought him no presents. But he held his peace.”

Gives Strength = Proverbs 25:28 “he that has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down and Without Walls.”

Of The Tongue = Ecclesiastes 5:2-7 says, ” be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to other anything before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon Earth: therefore let thy Words Be Few. 3 for a dream comes through the multitude of words. 4 when thou vowest a vow (swear a promise) unto God, defer not to pay it, he has no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou has vowed. 5 Better is it that thou should not vow, than thou should vow and not pay. 6 suffer not the mouth to cause thy flesh to sin, neither say that before the angels, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of the hand. 7 for in the multitude of dreams and many words there is emptiness: but fear thou, God.”

Shown by Jesus = Matthew 27:12-14 says, ” and when He was accused of the chief priests and Elders, He answered nothing 13 then said Pilate unto Him, hearing them not how many things they witness against thee? 14 and He answered him not a word, in so much that the governor marveled greatly (was very amazed).”

Of David = 1 Samuel 24: 4-7 says, ” and Men of David said unto him, behold the day of which the Lord said unto thee, ‘behold I will deliver thine enemy into thine hands, that thou may do to him as it shall seem good unto you.’ Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of souls robe secretly. 5 and it came to pass afterwards, That Davids Hearts smote him, because he had cut off so skirt (hem) 6 and he said unto his men, the Lord forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the Lord’s anointed, to stretch forth my hand against him, 7 so David stayed his servants with these words, and allowed them not to rise against Saul. But Saul rose up out of the cave, and went on his way.”

Of The Body = 1 Chronicles 9:26,27 says, ” for these Levites, the four chiefs Porter’s (gate Keepers) were in their set office (rooms) and were over the chambers and treasuries of the house of God. 27 and they lodged around about the house of God. Because the charge (responsibilities) was upon them, and the opening their of every morning pertained to them.”

Reward Of = Revelations 21:6,7 says, ” and He said unto me, ‘it is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is thirsty of the Fountain of the Water of Life freely. 7 he that overcometh shall inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he shall be My son.”
Finally done.

Is it time to show some self-control or is self-control out the window?  It is your choice.
