Hebrews 5:12-14 (NKJV) 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

The problem is the teaching and the learning. If we took a survey, in the local Sunday morning service, after it was over, a number of the members could not even tell you the name of the message or what it was about. Today we have computers, tablets, smartphones, we have overhead projectors that put the scripture up on a screen so you do not have to look it up this all leads to Spiritual immaturity.

People bring their Bibles to mark their seat and sit there and think about other things or fall asleep. Then get up and go out and eat. Right, here in Facebook we have people that like things and don’t read it just like it because it will make someone think they did read it and make them fell good. I have people that will like this devotional when I post it and not even look at it. I do not write this for likes I write them trying to help other grow. Stagnant is a strong word it means “showing little or no activity or vitality; inactive or sluggish a stagnant mind”. There are many church buildings that have grown stagnant over the years.

My prayer is that these groups and pages grow daily closer to the Lord and farther away from the world. I pray that this little devotional touches some and wakes up others going to church is not enough we need to get off the bottle and get on solid food, in other words, GROW UP!

  1. Right on, Jym. You could just have easily entitled your message, “Spiritual Laziness”. As you, I strongly object to the spoon-feeding of the Word via electronic screen–I think it makes for weaker Christians.

    1. Our Paster refuses to get wrapped up in the media thing we use the screen for the songs He uses it to put Book, Chapter, and Verse Title only. He has a flip phone even LOL however he preaches the word and that is what I need and desire to hear
